Day 184

Since we recently got internet at home, I've been staying at home a lot more. There's a whole other world of subjects here as opposed to my father's office, where I normally shoot. Today's photo is a macro of the inside of a cardboard egg carton. While cracking eggs for my mom today I noticed the unique texture and shapes present in each carton. I used an angle when taking this shot so there would be an impression of repeating shapes going all the way out to the edge of the photo. The front bump I actually got in clear focus, but the grainy look of the carton made it difficult to tell between focused and not.

Day 176

I can't beleive that 2014 is almost here! I've been posting a lot of landscapes lately so I thought I would switch it up with an abstract macro. I case you haven't guessed what this is yet, this is a pile of Twizzlers that was sitting on the desk in front of me as I worked today. As I was eating them I realized that the twisted lines would make a really cool photo. Not only do they have a really cool corkscrew pattern going on, they also reflected light to get some really bright white patches. I liked the original image out of the camera, but an infrared black and white effect gave it this really neat artistic look.

Day 57

Last Thursday was my mom's birthday. My sister decided that we should put one candle for every year on the cake, which was quite a few. By the time we had them all lite and were singing the candles were pretty short. As the official photographer of the event, I got several pictures of the melting candles. This was my favorite.

Day 14

I figured that since Valentines Day is tomorrow I should do some candy, flowers, etc. So yesterday we had flowers, so today is the candy.

This is just a kind of fun series, demonstrating what happens when you leave chocolate laying around our house.
